Thanks for this, I wasn’t sure whether to purchase the DVD or just go with my memory of the film from the theater. Based on this it seems I should review some of the “extras” in the DVD.

Hey Ryan, I’ve just read through your blog thus far. Good entries, good topics of discussion and good questions at the end. I appreciate your honesty in this post. It’s so true what you say – I also find it easy to like people, but to love requires a deep investment that costs in many ways.

Well, I received my replacement DVD in the mail today. That was fast. It shipped from California yesterday and arrived this afternoon!

It’s a complete DVD with the film and special features. Apparently Fox wants me to send the other DVD back, but I can’t find the postage-paid, addressed envelope they’re talking about. I’ll have to try calling them tomorrow.

I watched the featurette and all the deleted scenes tonight. The featurette was interesting and informative, and the deleted scenes really fill in a lot of lapses in the plot, although I’m glad they were taken out as the film flowed perfectly the way it was presented in theatres. I’ll have to check out the commentary tracks soon. (Both of them!) All in all, I’m glad I bought the retail version. The special features just made me fall in love with this movie even more!

By the way, not to nit pick, but you have a grammatical error in the start of paragraph 1, sentence 2 of this blog post; I don’t think the “I” belongs between “Since” and “designing”.
